Faruk has been teaching for over 30 years. In fact, his teaching started in middle school when his classmates would turn to him to explain in plain language what the teacher tried to teach the class. His specialty is in helping students excel on standardized tests and in regular academic subjects. He himself has scored 2400 on the SAT, 790 on the GMAT and 340 on the GRE, to name a few.
He is passionate about teaching. Over the years, Faruk has taught many different subjects, including GRE, GMAT, SAT, Math (Calculus, Geometry and Arithmetic), Physics and Engineering. He has actively taught in class or one-on-one for over 5000 hours during the course of his career (including five years as a university faculty), in addition to many more hours spent in curriculum development.
He has a Bachelor’s degree from MIT and Master’s and PhD degrees from U.C. Berkeley, being one of a select few to have graduated from MIT with a perfect 5.0 GPA.
When he is not teaching, he is active in new product development as an Engineering Manager, building robots for everyday use. He has also done consulting and expert witness work. To-date, he has nine issued U.S. Patents to his name.
His hobby is going to different parts of the world on Google Earth, and spending time with his two daughters.
Faruk is genuinely interested in helping his students acquire the knowledge and skills to succeed academically. He has the experience to sense where each student is struggling, and helps him/her get over the bump through clear explanations and follow-up exercises crafted on the spot.
