Verda started helping her peers with math in seventh grade, upon request of her teacher. She soon discovered an aptitude and a penchant for teaching, and continued helping her peers unofficially in high school, until eleventh grade, when she joined her school’s Math Help group. Along with three other students in Math Help, Verda answers her peers’ questions about math concepts, as well as homework problems and test questions.
Verda obtained a score of 800 in the Math section of the SAT, as well as a 5 in the Calculus AB Advanced Placement test. When she is not in school or studying, Verda likes to play ultimate frisbee, bike, bake, and create art in virtually any medium. She has recently taken up knitting.
